At Blacktown City Council we are proud to be supporters of a wide, diverse community and strive towards building the best council in Australia, achieving this through initiatives such as becoming a White Ribbon accredited Council.

About the opportunity

This 4 year apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to work towards becoming a professional in your preferred trade. Throughout the first 3 years of your apprenticeship, you will receive on the job training whilst completing a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating at TAFE, with your fourth year being purely practical experience. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work amongst over 200 qualified trades people across multiple disciplines in Council to work towards delivering projects and maintaining Council’s assets.

With approximately 500 buildings owned by Council, you will be required to assist in the maintenance of these buildings and other infrastructure. You will assist in painting and decorating commercial, industrial and domestic premises owned by Council, whilst also having the opportunity to learn computerised sign writing in Council’s sign shop. This apprenticeship is great for someone who is interested in this field of work, is hands-on and enjoys working in a close team environment.
