STE 1300apprentice can help you start your career as a trainee from the beginning to the end. We are a Group Training Organisation (GTO) that is committed to creating employment opportunities and continuity of employment for trainees.
What is a Group Training Organisation (GTO)?
STE 1300apprentice operates under nationally recognised guidelines as outlined by the GTO National Standards and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
As a GTO, we are your legal employer with the responsibility of placing you with a suitable host employer where you are able to learn your chosen qualification. As part of this program we are also responsible for arranging off-the-job training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Duration of Traineeships
A traineeship program for a Certificate III qualification varies but is generally completed over a twelve month period. Some traineeships require a two year commitment.
There are two components to the traineeship program, on-the-job and off-the-job training. On-the-job training refers to the training you receive in the workplace. Off-the-job training is further knowledge gained with an (RTO). As the legal employer we cover the enrolment fees of the off-the-job training component.
Training Contract
Your traineeship contract is registered with the State Training Authority. At the time of signing, a representative from an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) is available to assist with this process and further explain your rights and obligations under this contract.
Responsibilities of the Trainee
When you enter into a training contract, you commit to the following:
Acquire the skills of your chosen qualification as outlined in your training plan
Willingly accept training and instruction in the workplace
Attend off-the-job training scheduled with the RTO and complete assignments and assessments
Contribute to maintaining a safe workplace by adhering to the OH&S policies in that workplace
Responsibilities of STE 1300apprentice
When we enter into a training contract, we commit to the following:
Placement with a suitable host employer
Provide guidance and support throughout your traineeship through scheduled monitoring visits
Liaise with the RTO to ensure training is progressing according to the training plan
Operate under the terms and conditions of the relevant award
As an employer, we further commit to:
Responsibility for your wages, annual and sick leave
Ensure all paperwork is complete and that the training contract is registered
Assist with enrolment with the RTO
Rotation to other host employers if required
Regular OH&S site inspections of host employers to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
