Fitter machinist, 1st-4th year apprentice, Marsfield

1300apprentice currently have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to commence or recommence a fitter machinist apprenticeship, with our host employer based in Marsfield.

Our host employer is the CSIRO, Australia's national science research agency and this opportunity is placed with the Astronomy and Space Science Business Unit.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be undertaking a Certificate III in Engineering (metal trade).

 Duties that you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Manufacture and assembly of components
  • Complete practical work-based training
  • Use of CNC machines and CAD software
  • Learn to interpret drawings and sketches 
  • Other duties as directed.

Pre-requisites:

  • If you have already commenced a Fitter Machinist apprenticeship, must have up to date TAFE transcripts
  • Drivers licence and own transport
  • Experience with using basic hand tools
  • White card.

  • Passion for the trade
  • Good attention to detail
  • Great work ethic
  • Dedication and a willingness to learn.

Having photos of any completed projects made at school or home would be extremely beneficial.
