Educational Pathways Programs
Head Start program offering fee-free pre-apprenticeships whilst at school
Running from September 2022, senior school students in selected Sydney regions can nominate and choose a vocation to be upskilled in prior to completing their studies.
“The apprenticeship and traineeship head start initiative helps students unlock their futures through fee-free accredited training. By completing pre-apprenticeship or pre-traineeship courses, students get to try out career pathways of interest, gain nationally recognised units of competency, and earn credit that can be that can put towards full apprenticeship or traineeship courses.”
This initiative is offered by NSW Government public schools.
As part of the program, 1300apprentice offer work placement for up to a week through our network of host employers.
School students from years 10–12 can participate in the course undergoing formal training with a Registered Training Organisation while undertaking work placement in their career of choice.
