Supporting international women’s day

I’m hoping this will inspire a few people to strive for something a little bit more.

1.    What women inspire you and why?

Women like Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand’s Prime Minister, who is such a positive role model. She is smart, articulate, strong, feminine, has a sense of humour and not afraid to take on a challenge… leading a country (at 37, she is the world’s youngest female head of government) and becoming a new mum all in a relatively short period of time.

2.    What advice will you give to your younger self?

Don’t be afraid to try, sometimes you will make mistakes, but they are all part of life and learning. It is how your deal with mistakes and failures and what you learn from them that will make you stronger, more resilient, more versatile and successful in whatever you do.

Compassion and kindness are not weaknesses, they are strengths and very valuable attributes to have. It is OK to ask questions or question things you don’t understand, be a leader not a follower and think “outside the box”.

And don’t ever lose your sense of humour…
