Engineering – Mechanical Trade, Cert III, 1st – 3rd Year, Padstow, NSW
Our employer partner is a family-owned business founded in 1919, with plants in Australia and Thailand. They operate their own in-house toolmaking facility that designs and manufactures new tools and maintains existing tools.
The company operates more than 70 presses ranging from 10 tonne to 600 tonne. This includes transfer press lines and transfer presses. Other facilities include numerous coil straightening and feed lines, robotic automation equipment, resistance welders & 8 MIG welding robot stations.
This is your opportunity to build your career with a company renowned for producing large scale industrial components. In addition to crafting bespoke engineering solutions, including the iconic Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Torches!
Some of what you will learn:
- Learn from experienced fitters using the latest CNC, lathes, laser cutters and milling machines
- How to interpret drawings
- Design and manufacture of new tools.
- Work safely and effectively in a workshop and on-site environments
- Use of power tools/hand tools
- Welding, robotic, MIG, TIG and STICK
- Assemble and quality control

About You:
To be successful in this apprenticeship, you will need to:
- If you are currently and apprentice, you must be able to provide up to date training transcripts
- Be a logical and methodical thinker with a genuine passion for Engineering
- Have good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Be down to earth, friendly and enjoy being part of a team
- A drive to succeed and learn all aspects of the trade.
- Take pride in your work and be eager to learn
