STE 1300apprentice can help you start your career as an apprentice from the beginning to the end. We are a Group Training Organisation (GTO) that is committed to creating employment opportunities and continuity of employment for apprentices.
What is a Group Training Organisation (GTO)?
STE 1300apprentice operates under nationally recognised guidelines as outlined by the GTO National Standards and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
As a GTO, we are your legal employer with the responsibility of placing you with a suitable host employer where you are able to learn your chosen trade. As part of this program we are also responsible for arranging off-the-job training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Duration of Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship program varies but is generally completed over four years. Early completion can be attained through fast tracking - this is up to you and the effort you want to put in.
There are two components to the apprenticeship program, on-the-job and off-the-job training. On-the-job training refers to the training you will receive in the workplace. Off-the-job training is further knowledge gained with an RTO. As the legal employer we cover the enrolment fees of the off-the-job training.
Training Contract
Your apprenticeship contract is registered with the State Training Authority. At the time of signing, a representative from an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) is available to assist with this process and further explain your rights and obligations under this contract.
Responsibilities of the Apprentice
When you enter into a training contract, you commit to the following:
Acquire the skills of your chosen trade as outlined in your training plan
Willingly accept training and instruction in the workplace
Attend off-the-job training scheduled with the RTO and complete assignments and assessments
Contribute to maintaining a safe workplace by adhering to the OH&S policies in that workplace
