The Automotive Manufacturing Certificate

This certificate to become an automotive manufacturing technician covers various aspects of automotive production and machinery maintenance. Apprentices will gain hands-on practice and theoretical knowledge of the manufacturing process within the automotive industry.

What You’ll Learn? 

Participants in manufacturing technician courses can expect to learn a range of skills essential for success in the industry. These include: 

1. Vehicle Modification and Customization:

  • Modifying assembly line vehicles to special requirements
  • Installing internal trim in vehicles, such as lining, floor coverings, and armrests
  • Preparing new vehicle trim work according to drawings
  • Attaching door trims, seals, locks, and handles

2. Framework Construction:

  • Constructing framework in metal, wood, and other materials using welding equipment
  • Bolting, screwing, riveting, and welding sections together to form complete frameworks

3. Panel Fabrication and Installation:

  • Cutting and shaping panels of sheet metal, aluminium, and reinforced plastic
  • Attaching panels to frameworks using hand and power tools

4. Trim Work:

  • Selecting and cutting pieces of fabric, vinyl, and leather
  • Sewing pieces together using heavy-duty sewing machines
