Auto Electrical, first year apprentice, Huntingwood, NSW

Are you hands-on, mechanically minded, and proud of a job done right? We’re looking for a 1st Year Auto Electrical apprentice to join our client’s team in Huntingwood and help keep our forklift fleet operating safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and working in a practical, fast-paced workshop environment.


What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the workshop team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues

  • Servicing and repairing a range of forklifts of various sizes and models

  • Assisting with repairs and maintenance of units in the workshop

  • Supporting other workshop technicians as required

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance (PM) servicing on forklifts under the guidance of a Level 3 technician or above

  • Ensuring tools are properly maintained and cared for

  • Delivering high-quality customer service and clear communication

  • Completing other ad hoc duties as required

  • Operate equipment safely and use safe work practices at all times

  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety, and that of others

  • Follow all occupational health and safety procedures and requirements

  • Identify and implement risk control measures within your control

  • Report hazards, injuries, illnesses, and near misses promptly

  • Wear appropriate PPE in all required areas

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment

  • Assist with the creation and ongoing improvement of Safe Work Procedures

  • Ensure compliance with the Business Management System and all Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures


Physical & Functional Requirements

This is a physically active role. You will need to be able to:

  • Lift equipment weighing up to 20kg

  • Remove and fit components weighing up to approximately 70kg

  • Climb, squat, stretch, and work in confined positions on forklift trucks

  • Lift and pour fluids from containers ranging from 1kg to 25kg

  • Remove and replace heavy hydraulic rams
