How an Apprenticeship Works With 1300apprentice in Brisbane
Queensland’s apprenticeship system runs through registered GTOs and direct employers. When you come through 1300apprentice, you get the GTO advantage: we carry the employment contract, so you are protected even if a host employer’s workload drops.
We are your legal employer under Queensland’s training framework. Your wages, superannuation, leave entitlements, and WorkCover are managed by us. You sign one contract with 1300apprentice and that contract stays in place for the full duration of your apprenticeship.
We match you with a host employer in South East Queensland based on your trade, your location, and your career goals. Our employer network stretches from Caboolture to the Gold Coast and west to Ipswich. If a placement ends for any reason, we redeploy you to another host without resetting your training.
We coordinate your training through TAFE Queensland or an approved registered training organisation under the Queensland Government’s User Choice funding model. Your study days and work days are scheduled so they do not clash, and we track your progress to make sure you stay on track for completion.
Your Brisbane-based field officer is your direct line of support. They visit your workplace, check in on how you are progressing with your host employer, and step in to resolve issues before they become problems. You are never left to figure things out on your own.
